Terry Kozak, BA, ES

Director of Equine Services

Terry grew up in Lincoln, NE then moved to Fort Collins, CO where she graduated from Colorado State University (CSU) with a Bachelors in Sociology. Following her graduation, Terry dedicated several years to working in community mental health, focusing on providing support to children and families. Her passion for making a difference in people's lives led her to run a not-for-profit foster care agency for ten years, where she worked to improve the lives of foster children and their families.

Terry has always been drawn to horses and began riding at a young age. At CSU, she took equine equitation classes, which further fueled her interest in horsemanship. Since then, she has been taking private lessons to continually improve her skills. Her lifelong dream has been to blend her love for horses with her devotion to helping children and families.
Now, as an Equine Specialist at Magnolia Mill School, Terry feels she has the perfect job. She is certified in EAGALA (Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association) and Trauma-Focused Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, both of which are specialized practices that use horses to provide therapeutic support. Terry is passionate about equine therapy and has witnessed firsthand how horses can change lives, offering unique and powerful healing experiences.

With a background in natural horsemanship, Terry has been partnering and dancing with horses for over 20 years. Terry enjoys spending time outside hiking, running and at home on her farm with her husband, 2 children, horses, dogs, cats, chickens, goats, llamas, etc….
